Worshiping at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church

What to expect when you visit
When you enter, you will be greeted and given a bulletin for the day. If you have any immediate questions, please ask our Greeter. You may sit anywhere in the church, there is no assigned seating.
During the service, we use both the Blue Hymnal and the Red Book of Common Prayer. The bulletin will have the page numbers for you to follow. And they will also be announced throughout the service. All services include scripture readings from the Bible.
Should You Stand of Kneel? In general we stand when we sing, praise, and read the Gospel; we sit during the readings and the Sermon; we kneel to pray. During the Eucharist Prayer, either standing or kneeling is appropriate. If you are unable to stand or kneel, it is perfectly acceptable to remain seated. If you are not certain what to do next, either ask or follow the person next to you.
Communion – All baptized Christians, regardless of denomination, may take communion in the Episcopal Church. If you are unable to walk up to the communion railing, please ask the usher to alert the Lay Eucharist Ministers (LEM) that you will need the bread and wine brought to your seat.
Dress Code: There is no dress Code. Many people wear very casual clothes while others traditionally dress up. We are filled with joy that you have chosen to visit our church and the kind of clothes you wear is immateria
After the service, please join us in the fellowship hall for light refreshments
