Anyone, (being ordained is not required) can care pastorally. Volunteers provide meals, a phone call, a note card of encouragement.  Lay Eucharistic visitors take communion to those unable to attend services. (this requires a minimum of training)  Perhaps you would like to attend to the memorial garden or become part of the knitting group who make shawls.  If you feel called to nurture fellow parishioners, this is a good ministry for you.
